What Have You Been Avoiding? | Deep Krishna
Feeling disconnected from yourself usually isn’t something broken in you. It’s a feeling you’ve been avoiding. There’s a strange thing that happens to most of us. We only go looking for stillness when things fall apart. Nobody reaches for a meditation practice on their best day. We reach for it when the relationship ends, when we’re rejected, when something hurts too much to keep pushing through. And the rest of the time, we push the hard feelings out the door before they’ve even had a chance to sit down. That’s what disconnection from yourself actually is. Not something broken in you. Just years of not letting yourself feel what you actually felt. What Avoidance Actually Looks Like It rarely looks dramatic. It looks like reaching for your phone the second something uncomfortable comes up. It looks like staying busy so there’s no room left to feel anything. It looks like knowing exactly what everyone else needs from you, while having no idea what’s happening inside you. A feeling you never fully lived doesn’t disappear. It waits. And it comes back, again and again, asking for the attention you never gave it the first time. What we carry forward as old patterns, old triggers, old wounds that won’t settle, is often just this. Something unfinished, still asking to be felt. A Simple Practice to Try Right Now You don’t need a retreat or a big ritual to start. You can start exactly where you are, right now, reading this. Feel your feet on the ground. Notice your breath. Don’t change it. Just notice it. And instead of asking yourself what you should do next, ask something different. What’s actually happening in me, right now? Whatever comes up, don’t explain it and don’t fix it. Just let yourself feel it, fully, for a moment. That’s it. That’s the whole practice. Watch the Full Video In this video, I talk more about what it means to stop running from what comes up in you, and how this simple way of sitting with it, instead of managing it, fixing it, or scrolling it away, can begin to bring you back to yourself. What Have You Been Avoiding? If this lands for you, I’d love to know. Tell me in the comments below, or come sit with it in one of my sessions. What have you been avoiding?
